You can be my dearest diamond or a nameless chair,
You can be a peice of my heart, or ruffled paper, of which I don't care.
Sometimes I could smile and blow smoke or sometimes I couldn't be bothered
to give you a stare.
Such is the life, if life is life, and everything else is also there.

These sketches are brilliant....I love the energy and chemistry between the different elements in the sketch...I would love to know what goes on in your mind before the pen hits the paper...do u create a subject for the sketch after you draw it or do u decide on a subject and then sketch accordingly?....Are you a graphic designer? I mean professionally...
ReplyDeleteWhat goes on in my mind before I draw these?
ReplyDeleteA sort of love and liking for the object, a kind of greed for its folds. I really like the curvy 3-d-ness of objects and in my sketch I want to get that with simple lines.
As far as creating a subject.. sometimes I do create a subject but these sketches are more spontaneous doodles spreading from one thing to another.
Am I graphic designer professionally? I'm looking for a job, I'd like to be one. I'm a professional dancer.
Thats interesting...why do u want a job as a graphic artist when you're a dancer?...is there a dearth of opportunities in that discipline?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think I'm equipped for doing both. Doing only one of them makes me feel incomplete. Not incomplete but lets say imbalanced.
ReplyDeleteAlso, yes, there are few exciting opportunities for dance.
Have u been trained in graphics? And where did u finish your training in dance? and what form of dance?....if I'm being too nosy, it's only because I am Ms. Anonymous
ReplyDeleteMs. Anonymous, the name comes with a feeling of disbelief. My gut says you might not be as anonymous, as curious you are.
ReplyDeleteSome might even wonder if it is me, myself writing to myself. But I don't think that is very exciting to me. So I'll try to answer your questions..
Have I been trained in graphics? The answer is no. I always wanted to paint and draw and did it as a child and then one day I found myself saying an believing that I'd never be an artist. The image of the artist suddenly glorified and unreachable in my head was brought down to doing 10 portraits a day. This blog brought it all closer to reality.
Where did you finish your training in dance?
I trained at Attakkalari Centre For Movement Arts and then I began to freelance with other dance institutions in India. I also had the opportunity to go to South Korea for training n folk and contemporary dance practices.
The form of dance: Within what we call contemporary dance, I like to work with physical theatre in an open way, influenced by my interest in graphics.
Well, Ms Anonymous, I must say I've enjoyed this. Thank you.
I'm not anonymous, but not because you know me by a name, a face, a photograph or a vague memory. You know me because I inhabit the same emotions that you experience in your life, only in different levels, complexities, permutations and combinations. In this sense, we all share a small part of each other within us. In another sense, it gives me the freedom to be as curious as I want to be. My misbehaviour will have no name attached to it, no identity and hence, no credible memory. But thanks for your reply.
