the insignificant moment over and over

I got this today.I'm sharing this with everyone because we need to know that people are happy. Real happy. Not facebook happy sending fake hug and all. (although I'll be glad with a hug. I just got infected with facebook and am sick and surfing, I mean suffering) I asked Riddhi how she was, you know the usual whats up? She said very good! How often do we hear someone say that? It makes a difference. Somewhere deep down, in a good way. Happyment, goodness, happiness all of it still exists. People send love to random people. At least Randy does. Goodness to random Randy. Thank you.

I'm back from Bombay. It didn't seem like much of a vacation. No, happy holidays don't exist anymore. Though bipolar behaviour, issues and prayers do. So, I'm planning to substitute unnecessary jabber with blogging as quickly as I can get connected to the internet at home. There will be more postcards, so people can still leave their postal address with me.

a little less love ,

Ladies and Gentlemen, May I have your ...

The way I'm going with posting mail to random people it seems I have single handedly decided to revive the snail mail system. So if you are interested in receiving some scraps of brown paper with stuff on it from me then mail me your postal address. You could also in return ask for my postal address and mail me some Indian Rs. 5 stamps in an envelope. I run out of them everyday!

Stuff = random poem I like, or wrote.
Stickers, art, doodles, excerpt from book etc. etc. and
particularly etc.

just another postcard for postcrossing.

Thursday, August 30, 2007

Dear Didier,

Today began at Ulsoor (1) earlier than usual, writing sleepy email of long rambles, and moved at the average speed of 8 kms per hour on cycle to Shanti Sagar for Idly without the vada, and juice (jamie the brown donut like thing in the picture is the vada.) Then snailing through Wilson Garden where the dance school is, it hit a closed door at Koramangala's Sancy laundrette(3), so a quick diversion was made to Koramangala 4th Block office (near 3) with 3.5 kgs of dirty laundry and then a misguided tour of Madiwala(4) to get back to Ulsoor (1) a tired fish on a bicycle. Once back to Ulsoor if you happened to check the Sarvajanik mail box you would find a torn envelope with my name on it. On the floor you would see a postcard split into 2, one side with the picture and one with the words and stamps. I'm sure you would go to the landlord and complain. So I did. Such foolishness in this society I tell you. Its a postcard from France with the prettiest stamps I have seen. It would be tragic to find it wet and soggy and hence split into two, but no kind of rain is capable of tearing open a brown paper envelope which says familiar at the back.
yours truly,
heartbroken.
(Jamie, sarvajanik= public in hindi)

As hard as you may try to maintain clarity in communication, the poetic muse has come to visit you today. Even if you don't write poetry, your thoughts are more connected with your imagination now than they are with reality. Saying things impulsively can create problems, for your image-rich language paints a picture rather than telling a story. Don't try to force your communications into overly formal presentations. Instead just describe what you see in your mind's eye the best you can.

The Good Life?

Dilli has made life strange and lazy. Hours spent in bed in boredom. No reason as such but the focus of life seems to be the future. I seem to dead my brain and crawl along life. I haven't shopped like the postcard suggests, because the focus of life is the future. The thoughts running through my head are like words of a sufi song, few and haunting.
Yours truly,
restless and worried.

These are the stamps I have collected in one month with Postcrossing . I think more and more people should join + Postcrossing + . Its a great way to send mail and receive mail. I'm in love with the guy who owns the site. Today has been a great day, all from making art, talking and whistling to parrot and playing badminton. Good days!

In the moment postcards for postcrossing. We (Chini and me) cut up images randomly and pasted them on ugly postcards to make these new postcards. I'm quite thrilled with these because when I stuck them together I didn't see a connection, its only later that I figured that any image simply because its adjacent to another image will add to the story or contrast and therefore add to the story. So here is the postcards with Chini series.

+ Postcross +

This is what the next postcrosser will get from me.
I'm not very happy with how this looks but
I'm doing collages without thinking now to try new stuff.

Snap! In more than one sense

c for chocolate
Altered photocopy of an image. I took it out of the Me magazine.
The magazine took it from Getty Images. So we don't really know who clicked it.
