Le Poète est semblable au prince des nuées
Qui hante la tempête et se rit de l'archer ;
Exilé sur le sol au milieu des huées,
Ses ailes de géant l'empêchent de marcher.

  1. i needed a translation of your poem so i used babelfish, that online translator thingy. i have a feeling Your version is different.
"The Poet is similar to the prince of the clouds Who haunts the storm and laughs himself at the archer; Exiled on the ground in the medium of the hootings, Its wings of giant prevent it from going."
    what do you think?

  3. well,
this is the last stanza from the peom L'albatros, by Charles Baudelaire, we did in class.
    i have some basic idea,
since my french teacher is very lazy. no mention of the archer she made..
    the prince of the clouds
    here is the albatros..
the rest is as you said.

The Poet is like the prince of the clouds
who haunts the storm and laughs at
archer (not sure about the archer, this word is not listed in my dictionary)
exiled on land(here she mentions no hooting, and no translation for milieu as well) by crowds of people,
Their giant wings prevent them from walking.
The whole idea being that they rule the sky and are ridiculed on land.

And as Ace says, this is a very literal translation.
